Sipi Asset Recovery Re-Certified to Global R2 Standard for IT Recycling Excellence
Rigorous March 2017 audit completed in compliance to the standard
Around the world, companies in healthcare, finance, tech, value-added reselling, and more depend on Sipi Asset Recovery for best in class IT asset recycling services.
As part of our commitment to our global clients, we’ve recently had a very successful audit to the R2 Standard.
The R2 certification standard, administered by SERI (Sustainable Electronics Recycling International), is the go-to benchmark for the asset recycling and remarketing industry worldwide, and it’s very important to us.
Secure recycling of computers, laptops, hard drives, and other electronics covers a wide range of responsibilities. This includes processing, testing, and sales as well as the proper handling of scrap/Grade D equipment. R2 focuses on caring for the environment as well as protecting worker health and operational safety at each step. Plus, the R2 certification ensures adherence to crucial data security and asset recycling standards — more important now than ever before — to reduce regulatory risk and liability.
Patty Osterberg, Director of Outreach for SERI, had this to say about the R2 certification:
Industry recognized standards, such as R2, identify the best practices for managing used electronics in a way that preserves resources, protects the environment, human health, and electronic data security. Certification to the R2 Standard has greatly improved the electronics recycling landscape and continues to raise the bar for the industry.
“The whole team at Sipi is proud of this achievement — and we bring this experience to work every day helping our clients save money, reduce their risk, and keep the environment healthy,” commented David Garrett, Director of Regulatory Affairs.
